SHAH ALAM - Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds -- that are forecast to last till 3PM today --, are expected to occur in Johor and Sabah.

The warning issued by Malaysia Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) stated the stormy weather will specifically hit Batu Pahat, Kluang, Pontian, Kulai, Kota Tinggi, Johor Bahru, Tawan and Sandakan.

MetMalaysia pointed out that warnings are issued when there are signs indicating thunderstorms with rain intensity exceeding 20 mm per hour which is close, or expected to occur over an hour.

The country is having its 15th General Election today.
