KLANG - An Election Commission (EC) officer passed away earlier today while on duty at the ACS Methodist Jalan Raya Barat voting centre.
Klang District Chief Police, Assitant Commissioner Cha Hoong Fong said the deceased, a local man, was found unconscious on a buggy while working at the voting centre.
“The police receive a report about the incident at around 12.15pm regarding the 45-year-old victim,” he said.
“The victim was found unconscious and was immediately rushed to the Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (HTAR) in an ambulance,” he said on Saturday.
He added that further investigations showed that the victim has passed away.
“Early investigations with the victim’s widow said that the victim has prior to this received treatment for myocardial infarction (heart attack).
He added that the remains have been taken to HTAR’s Forensic for an autopsy.
“This case has been classified as sudden death,” he said.
