MACHANG - Unofficial results saw Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Kamal leading with 8,072 votes in the Machang parliamentary seat as of 8.50pm.

He overtook the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate, Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub who got 6,160 votes and the Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate, Dr Rosli Allani Abdul Kadir who got 1,105 votes.

While the candidate of Parti Bumiputera Malaysia (Putra), Mejar (B) Muhammad Seman obtained 36 votes.

The unofficial result involved 40 channels that were counted.

It is viewed there was no party that could face the election solo based on the current political landscape in the state.
