SHAH ALAM - Umno veteran Tan Sri Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah loses his stronghold in Gua Musang to Pas with a slim majority of 163 votes.

The seat was won by Azizi Abu Naim with over 15,000 votes in the 15th General Election (GE15).

Previously, it was reported that Tengku Razaleigh would not be looking to defend his seat in the GE15.

Tengku Razaleigh was first elected MP for the seat back in 1974 when it was known as Ulu Kelantan, before the name was changed to Gua Musang in 1986.

Having been elected for 12 straight terms, Ku Li was the longest-serving federal lawmaker with an unbroken record in national history.

In the last GE, he won the Gua Musang parliamentary seat with a majority of 3,913 votes in a three-cornered fight with Pas and PKR candidates.

For the GE15, Ku Li had event embraced digitalisation and campaigned on TikTok application as a new medium to approach voters, especially the young people.
