SHAH ALAM - Chants of 'Abah terbaik' echoed when Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announces that the party's coalition had won 73 seats in the 15th General Election (GE15), earlier.

The announcement was made at about 3am at the PN's command centre, here, which was filled with more than 500 candidates and supporters of the party's coalition as well as media personnel.

When the announcement was made by Muhyiddin, affectionately known as Abah, PN candidates and supporters chanted 'Terima Kasih Rakyat Malaysia' for the votes given to the coalition.

Muhyiddin said that as of 3am, PN had won 73 parliamentary seats and could form a government if it joined forces with parties in Sabah and Sarawak.

He said the victory included 22 parliamentary seats in Kelantan and Terengganu that used the Pas logo.

"There are still six seats that have not yet been counted by the Election Commission (SPR)," he said.

GE15 saw PN compete in 180 parliamentary seats with 149 candidates using the PN logo.

A total of 22 candidates in Kelantan and Terengganu used Pas logo while nine candidates in Sabah were using the logos of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), Parti Maju Sabah (SAPP), Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star) and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu).
