Its candidate in Pandan, Tan Sri Ong Tee Keat lost to PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli, who won handily with a majority of 48,296 votes, while Bryan Lai Wai Chong could barely mount a challenge in the nine-cornered fight in Ampang, which saw Pakatan Harapan (PH)-PKR candidate Rodziah Ismail winning with a comfortable majority of 29,681 votes.
Warisan also lost in Tasek Gelugor, Batu Kawan and Jelutong in Penang.
The party has not fared well in this 15th general election (GE15), having just secured three seats so far, out of the 25 seats it contested in Sabah as well as the Labuan seat, a far cry from the eight seats it won in GE14.
Warisan president Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal defended his Semporna seat, while his brother Datuk Mohammad Yusof Apdal triumphed in Lahad Datu with a majority of 6,401 votes. Isnaraissah Munirah Majilis won Warisan’s third seat, winning in Kota Belud with a majority of 4,582 votes. - BERNAMA
