KUALA LUMPUR - Chants of "undur undur, undur Zahid" (step down), "No DAP" and "No Anwar" fill the Menara Dato Onn lobby, here, today.

Around 20 Umno Bukit Bintang members were expressing their frustrations over Barisan Nasional's (BN) performance in the 15th General Election (GE15), demanding the resignation of the party's president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Umno KL chief Datuk Seri Dzulkarnain Taib said if a leader failed to perform their duty, they must take responsibility.

In this case, he said the Umno president and chairman has to be held accountable for the party's failure.

He said BN has failed in the general election twice in a row under Zahid's leadership.

He expressed concerns over the failure and seeing seats won by BN became smaller and smaller.

“Zahid should respectfully step down from his position before the supreme council issues a vote of no confidence.

"Moreover, the government under Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri's administration (14th Parliament's term) will end (in July 2023), but an election was called," he said.
