#NotMyPM trending again after Muhyiddin says he has enough numbers.

Users voiced their concern about the fact that Muhyiddin’s coalition, Perikatan Nasional (PN) did not achieve a simple majority in the 15th general election (GE15) but are frontrunners to form a coalition bloc to form the government.
“Democracy and justice. The people have voiced their vote, action speaks louder than words. We stand before our country tonight, democracy has died. #NotMyPM,” said user @aliciayap0613.
User @irfenalif said:“It is not democracy if we can’t even choose our prime minister! #NotMyPM”
In the 15th general elections on Saturday, Perikatan Nasional won 73 parliamentary seats while Pakatan Harapan won 82 seats.
There was no political coalition or party that won a simple majority of 112 out of 222 parliamentary seats, of which 220 were contested, but Pakatan Harapan held the most number of seats.
Twitter user @huhwhatandrea said:“#NotMyPM. I’m in denial. We didn’t go out of our way to vote for a better, anti-corruption party for Muhyiddin to just come in and mix with everyone and become prime minister."
She said this in reference to the fact that PH held a higher number of seats than PN which symbolises that PH received more votes than PN despite not having a simple majority.
Perikatan Nasional (PN) also announced that they have formed an alliance with Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) and Barisan Nasional (BN) after the official results were released.
This alliance brings their total parliamentary seats to 131 seats, which trumps Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) total of 82 seats.
In response to this, user @milghandi tweeted, “The winning party should have the right to choose not the losing parties.
How can losing parties combine with other losing parties and win? This is unfair. #NotMyPM”
Some users also expressed concern about PN’s campaigning style.
User @lady_bugg11 said:“When they used the ‘Yahudi’ and race card as their last-minute war cry, you know they are too desperate to win. Definitely #NotMyPM. He blew his only chance.”
“The moment you involve race and religion in politics, you are #NotMyPM. It's horrifying to watch people idolise the same person who claimed the number of deaths due to Covid-19 was only a little when it was 36,000,” said @jojotcl.
The last time #NotMyPM was trending was when Tan Sri Muhyiddin was appointed as the 8th Prime Minister of Malaysia by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong in 2020, following the 'Sheraton Move', a political coup formed by defectors from within PH to topple its government.
Some users reflected on the time when Muhyiddin was prime minister only two years ago.
Twitter user @DnsFrhn said:“Why did you think we asked you to resign in 2020? Why did you think we were angry and frustrated seeing your face on the screen when all of us were stuck at home? You have zero legacy and zero contributions to this country. #NotMyPM”
According to some people, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin had also taken some seemingly questionable actions during his service as Prime Minister as user @jiungIvr pointed out.
“Can’t believe the same person who announced he had diarrhoea through PDF, who took Covid-19 lightly in this country becoming Prime Minister again. I have lost hope, to be honest. It’s better to just have a Google Form election. It saves time and money, right? #NotMyPM”
Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin was presented as the candidate for the 10th prime minister following a statement by Istana Negara made in hopes of stabilising the political situation in Malaysia after the 15th general election.
