Perak MB unveils his new state exco roster

IPOH - Newly minted Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad has today, unveiled his state executive councilors line-up.

The roster comprising of Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) assemblymen, said Saarani was a mixed of experienced and young leaders; some whom were also former state exco members.

"Members of the Perak State Executive Council have attended the first meeting to discuss and decide on some important matters today.

"Among others, the meeting agreed that the First Sitting of the Second Session of the First Year of the 15th Perak State Assembly will be held on Dec 19 to present the 2023 Budget," he told a press conference here today.

Following is the full list of state executive councillors and their respective portfolios:

1. Datuk Mohd Zolkafly Harun - Rural Development, Plantation, Agriculture and Food Industry

2. Datuk Seri Ir Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin - Infrastructure, Energy, Water and Public Transport

3. A. Sivanesan - Human Resources, Health and Indian Community Affairs

Saarani, the Kota Tampan assemblyman, also announced the reappointment of Datuk Mohamad Zahir Abdul Khalid from BN as Perak State Assembly speaker.

On the portfolios, Saarani said in addition to leading the state government, he is also the State Islamic Religion, Finance, Security, Land, Natural Resources, Economic Planning and GLC Committee chairman.

Perak has opted to form a unity government as no single party or coalition obtained a simple majority in the November 19 Perak state election, with Perikatan Nasional winning 26 seats; PH, 24 seats; and BN, nine seats in the 59-member State Assembly.- BERNAMA
