SHAH ALAM - The outcome of the 15th General Elections, (GE15) has revealed that more people are interested in the democratic process.

Darul Ehsan Institute Senior (Research) Manager Khairul Ariffin Mohd Anuar said it was based on the voter turnout of 73 per cent which is equivalent to about 15 million people.

"We saw many of the elderly and youths come out to vote and were willing to queue for three to four hours.

"It had been seen since 2018, so I think some of the people have become aware of their responsibility as a voter ," he said

Khairul was a panelist for the Sinar Live Programme entitled 'Finally Anwar is PM of the Unity Government' aired on all Sinar Harian digital platforms on Thursday.

The program conducted by Fahiz Ariff also featured Peneraju Chief Executive Officer Dr Mohd Muzzammil Ismail, former Kuantan Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate Fuziah Salleh and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) Political Analyst Dr Kartini Aboo Talib as panelists.

Khairul said politicians and people in general need to educate themselves on the value of tolerance.

He said this when commenting on the issue of unity in the country. Khairul went on to say this was to create a more harmonious environment and for everyone to be more understanding towards differences especially in terms of politics.

" The general public and politicians need to learn that is alright to have differences and tolerate or understand those differences in a peaceful manner," he added.
