Dr M congratulates Anwar

SHAH ALAM - Former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad extended his good wishes to the 10th Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
In a Facebook post, the Pejuang chairman congratulated his former deputy minister Anwar and wished him all the best.
“I congratulate Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on his appointment as Malaysia’s 10th Prime Minister. All the best,” he said in the brief Facebook post.
At exactly 5:06pm yesterday, Anwar was sworn in as Malaysia's 10th Prime Minister in the Istana Negara.
On Thursday, the long-time opposition leader was sworn in, which marked the culmination of almost a three-decade political career that began as a protege of the veteran leader Mahathir.
Anwar promised to maintain Islam's status as the state religion and defend the rights of ethnic Malays while promising to crack down on corruption and boost the economy.
