SM Faisal was Emilia's only serious boyfriend - Emilia's sister

KUALA LUMPUR - Emilia Hanafi's sister told the magistrate's court here today that her former brother-in-law, Datuk SM Faisal SM Nasimuddin was the only serious boyfriend to Emilia.

Food supplier Elisa Nani, 38, said the former couple's relationship began in school before they got married in 2004, when they were both 25.

The sixth prosecution witness was testifying in the trial SM Faisal who was charged with voluntarily causing hurt to his former wife Emilia before magistrate Nadia Othman.

Elisa said the accused had met Emilia through their brother Ezhan while they were rollerblading as teenagers.

She said they would also go out to eat with her former brother-in-law's siblings as they were almost the same age.

The witness said she used to visit SM Faisal's family home in Bukit Tunku, here.

She said to her, SM Faisal's mother was like a second mother to her referring to the woman as "Aunty Zaleha".

"Aunty Zaleha was a great person.

"She would come to visit me during my confinement period after I gave birth to my daughter.

"In fact, she would cook my favorite food and even checked on me and my children besides giving the best advices," she said.

The trial continues on Dec 6.

SM Faisal, 43, was charged with voluntarily causing hurt to Emilia, 43, at a house in Desa Sri Hartamas, Brickfields, here, between 12.30pm and 4.30pm on Nov 22, 2015.

The charge under Section 323 of the Penal Code and punishable under Section 326A carries a maximum jail term of two years or a fine of up to RM2,000 or both, if convicted.
