PUTRAJAYA- The Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim should be given support and not furnished with demands at this moment, said Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor today.

Hajiji stressed that now is not the right time to make any demands, including for Cabient posts, to Anwar as it is at a critical time when he needs to put together an administration to immediately work on issues affecting the people which have already been delayed.

"This is not the time (demands from Sabah), I think we should support him first," said Hajiji, after a meeting with Anwar at the Prime Minister's Office in Putrajaya at about 4pm today.

"I am grateful to be given the opportunity to meet the Prime Minister. Our main aim is to express support from the Sabah government and the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS). He welcomed us and appreciates the support we have expressed," he said when he was met by reporters after the meeting,

Hajiji was accompanied by Sabah Deputy Chief Minister II Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan as his entourage spent about 45 minutes with Anwar.

Hajiji, who is also the Chairman of the GRS, said the coalition only sent letters of support to Anwar and asserted that the distribution of Cabinet posts was not part of the discussion in the meeting.

"We just sent a letter of support, there was no discussion (on the Cabinet posts) because the main aim was to give support to his leadership," he said.
