SHAH ALAM - Songstress Jaclyn Victor emerged as the champion of the ninth season of Gegar Vaganza (GV9) at the "Malam Kemuncak" finale concert on Sunday.

The concert was broadcasted live from the Majlis Bandaraya Shah Alam (MBSA) Auditorium.

Following the theme of "Kemanisan Di Akhir Garisan", Jaclyn or popularly known as Jac belted out a medley of popular hits to showcase her incredible range which included songs such as 'Its All Coming Back', originally sung by Celine Dion and 'This Is Me' (Keal Settle), meanwhile a rap battle with VE through the song 'The Real Slim Shady' (Eminem) and Sang Saka Biru (Joe Flizzow, Altimet, SonaOne and Alyph).

The singer, who gained popularity with the song "Gemilang," emerged victorious and received a prize in the form of RM100,000 in cash along with a trophy.

Meanwhile, Bob Yusof who clinched the runner-up title, received a cash prize of RM50,000 along with a trophy, while third place went to Shila Amzah who won a cash prize of RM30,000 along with a trophy.

Meanwhile, Tomok, VE and Hairul Nizam finished in fourth, fifth and sixth places respectively with cash prizes amounting to RM20,000, RM15,000 and RM10,000 along with trophies.

All participants who competed in the final stage of GV9 were judged by a line of professional judges consisting of Datuk Ramli MS, Datuk Syafinaz Selamat and Hetty Koes Endang as permanent judges, while Edry Abd Halim of KRU fame served as a the guest judge.

In addition to the six finalists, other participants who took part in GV9 were Dina Nadzir, Fuad Rahman, Asheed Def Gab C, Tom, Pat Candy, Haida Hasnan and Roy Kapilla.

The final performance was also made more entertaining by performances from popular evergreen singers Ramlah Ram and Amelina.

GV9, hosted by Nabil Ahmad and Elly Mazlein, has been broadcasting live on Astro Ria (104) every Sunday, at 9pm since Sept 12.
