SHAH ALAM – A senior citizen and mentally challenged woman were rescued in a house fire at Taman Sunway, Batu Caves, here.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Norazam Khamis said the team received a distress call on the incident at 8.58am and firemen from Selayang were deployed to the scene.
“The upper level of the two-storey terrace house was 20 per cent burnt.
“The victims, aged 61 sustained burns on her hand while her daughter in her 20s sustained minor injuries.
“She was treated by the Emergency Medical and Rescue Services (EMRS) officers before being handed over to the Health Ministry personnel for further treatment,” he said.
Norazam said the cause of the fire was being investigated.
