Covid-19: 1,737 new cases, 17 deaths

SHAH ALAM - The Health Ministry records 1,737 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday with one imported case.

This brought the cumulative cases in the country to 4,953,723 cases.

Through their KKMNow Portal, 17 deaths caused by Covid-19 were reported and six were brought-in-dead (BID) cases.

The death toll now stood at 36,684 since the pandemic began.

A total of 3,338 patients were reported to have recovered making the total recoveries throughout the country to 4,930,524.

There were 24,960 active cases recorded on Wednesday, 23,018 or 92.2 per cent were individuals undergoing home quarantine.

For the past 24 hours, no new patients were placed in the Covid-19 Quarantine and Treatment Centre (PKRC) while 1,848 patients were placed in hospitals and 94 were placed in the intensive care unit (ICU).
