Number of flood victims in Selangor rise

SHAH ALAM – The number of flood victims in two states increased to 510 individuals from 145 families placed in five temporary evacuation centres (PPS) as of 8am on Thursday.

The National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) through an infographic shared on its Facebook page announced that there were 195 flood victims in Selangor and 315 in Perak.

Three districts in both states were still affected by the floods with three PPS opened in Selangor while two PPS were opened in Perak.

On Wednesday, 402 victims from 116 families in Selangor and Perak were still taking shelter at four PPS as of 4pm.

Two rivers in Selangor were reported over the dangerous level which were Hulu Selangor and Sungai Langat, Kuala Langat.

Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) predicted thunderstorms and rains in several areas in Selangor, Putrajaya, Kuala Lumpur, Perlis, Kedah, Penang, Negeri Sembilan and Johor until Thursday night.
