The Straight Path Convention 2022 lights up the way ahead of new year

KUALA LUMPUR - Thousands of people from all walks of life attended The Straight Path Convention 2022, here, over the weekend to listen to international standard knowledge-quenching lectures in line with the Quran and Sunnah.

The two-day event was held at the Bank Rakyat Twin Towers, here on Nov 26 and 27.

There were also participants from neighbouring countries such as Thailand, Singapore and the Philippines who came for the spiritually reviving convention.

This was the 10th year the annual weekend event was held since 2015.

It was another joint effort between Dakwah Corner Bookstore and Yayasan Ta’lim as the organisers.

Themed “Al-Wahn: Desiring Dunya, Belittling Hereafter”, the convention is a wake-up call for the Ummah to learn from the past, realise and reform the present and work to build a bright future based on the true spirit of faith that Allah promised.

Its mission is to invite people towards the straight path that will lead to the eternal place that is Jannah (paradise) by following the final message of Allah, the Quran and His final messenger Prophet Muhammad.

The esteemed speakers line up comprised Imam of a mosque in Jeddah Sheikh Assim Alhakeem, Mufti and judge Sheikh Dr Sajid Umar, founder of Huda Mosque in Montreal Sheikh Saeed Rageah, Unisel adjunct professor Dr Zaharuddin Abd Rahman and founder and chief executive officer of Interactive Dakwah and Tarbiyah Association (IDT) Lim Jooi Soon.

Meanwhile, Faisal Abdul Latiff, appeared as its master of ceremony.

The convention featured eight topics namely; The Prophecy of Prophet Muhammad SAW; The Glorious Era: Ummah at the Peak; The Decline: Internal and External Causes; Negative impact of Al-Wahn; Dunya is Temporary, Death is Inevitable; Unleashing the Ummah’s Abilities; Cultivating the Faith and Identity; and The Way Out: Ummah’s Quest for Glory.

There was also the “kids circle” aiming to ease parents engaged in seeking knowledge in the main hall during the convention.

Participants also had the chance to take part in a fun and interactive session which included quizzes with exciting prizes in store.

As the official partner of the convention, Sinar Daily had a giveaway contest in which 20 winners received tickets to the two-day event.
