Fadillah will be replacing Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin who had served the ministry since August 2021 under former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
The GPS chief whip has also been appointed as a deputy prime minister in the new Cabinet line-up announced today.
The Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu Sarawak (PBB) senior vice-president and also a caretaker Senior Works Minister, has been Petra Jaya Member of Parliament since 2004.
Fadillah had also served the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) as a deputy minister in 2008.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said that the new cabinet line-up would attend a special meeting on Monday (Dec 5).
The announcement of the Cabinet line-up was made in Putrajaya at 8.20 pm and was broadcast live through local television stations and social media platforms.
It was also attended by the Government Chief Secretary Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali.
The formation of the Cabinet came after Anwar was sworn in as the 10th Prime Minister last week to lead a unity government comprising Pakatan Harapan which has 82 seats, Barisan Nasional (30 seats), GPS (23), Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (six) and other parties.
Anwar was sworn in before the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah on Nov 24. - BERNAMA
