PUTRAJAYA - Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution will seek the view of top cop Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani over RM600 billion alleged misappropriation of Covid-19 funds under Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin administration.

He said this during the press conference at his Home Ministry’s office, here.

“Yesterday Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim made a general statement that he will let the authorities to review.

“At this particular moment, I haven't discussed with the IGP.

"We will discuss and ask for his opinion on that matter,” he said.

Yesterday, Anwar had said he was leaving it completely to the authorities to investigate the alleged misappropriation of funds., further stating that the Finance Ministry had informed that there had been several breaches involving the funds.

“Several decisions (were made) to investigate the expenditure of RM600 billion without tenders (but) it is not for me to decide," Anwar had told reporters.

The controversy over the use of emergency funds amounting to more than RM600 billion while the country was facing the Covid-19 pandemic was raised by former Melaka chief minister Adly Zahari on Nov 15.

Muhyiddin had said he was not afraid of being investigated over the alleged embezzlement of government funds.
