SHAH ALAM - The allegations from the Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin towards Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim receiving RM15 million while the latter was Selangor’s Economic Advisor is considered to be nothing more than a repetition of slander to cloud the people’s minds.

The Selangor Menteri Besar’s Political Secretary Juwairiya Zulkifli said the matter was repeatedly denied including the official answer of then Menteri Besar the late Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim in the Selangor State Assembly session.

She said throughout the duration of Anwar becoming the Selangor Economic Advisor, he had been given the symbolic salary of RM1 a year.

“The salary was not paid to him since the date of the appointment, in fact he has not received any allowance or privilege other than the RM1 salary,” she said in a statement on Wednesday.

Juwairiya made the statement following Muhyiddin’s claims that Anwar received the RM15 million when he was the Selangor Economic Advisor in the Padang Serai Parliament talk recently.

The Bukit Melawati Assemblyman said the matter was clearly stated in the ‘Hansard” (official statement) of the Selangor state assembly through answers to questions by the Assemblymen.

“Recycling this baseless fabrication shows the desperation and the PN political capital’s bankruptcy in their campaign efforts after they failed to form the Federal government.

“The act of spreading slander as well as false accusations to cloud the minds of the people is irresponsible and clearly out of the heart of the Malay-Islam politics they preached,” she said.

She said the Padang Serai Parliament voters should reject PN in the election because they still wanted to collect votes with slander and fabrication.

“I believe that the prime minister should take further actions to prevent the repetition of this slander,” she explained.
