Driver microsleep while driving crashes into four vehicles

The 2.25pm incident saw the 21-year old driver sustained an injury to his nose and was treated at the yellow zone of the Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital (HRPZ II), here.
A three-year old boy who was in the passenger seat in one of the cars hit by the Proton Iswara vehicle sustained light injuries and a bruise on the head and had received treatments in the same hospital.
Five other victims aged between 26 and 47 who were in their respective vehicles were not injured.

Kota Bharu District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Rosdi Daud said other than the Proton Iswara, other vehicles involved were a Perodua Alza, Honda City and Mitsubishi had each suffered damages.
"Early investigations found the warehouse assistant driving the Proton Persona was from Taman Maju Junction towards the Wakaf Siku junction.
“He was found to have microsleep and skidded to the left of the road and crashed into the back of the Proton Iswara.
"The impact caused the Proton Iswara to slide forward, and hit three other vehicles that were in the same area," he said in a statement, here, on Thursday.
He said the case was investigated in accordance with Rule 10 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959 (Rule 10 LN 166/59) for failing to control the vehicle while driving and causing an accident.
"Further investigations are still ongoing," he said.
