Whatsapp is bringing a new and personalised way for users to express themselves by introducing avatars.

Avatar is a digital visual representation of users that they can create from billions of combinations of diverse hairstyles, facial features, and outfits.

Now, WhatsApp users can use their personalized avatar as their profile photo or choose one of 36 custom stickers reflecting numerous emotions and actions.

Besides being a fast and fun way to share feelings with friends and family, sending an avatar can also be a great way to represent oneself without using a real photo or risking their privacy.

The feature which is obviously new to many will be continuously delivered with style enhancements including lighting, shading, hairstyle textures, and more to make avatars only better over time.

With the ability to truly customise one's appearance with skin tone, hair, body type, and outfits among other things by creating an avatar, WhatsApp is set to help users represent themselves in all their diversity.

“We're bringing avatars to WhatsApp! Now you can use your avatar as a sticker in chats. More styles coming soon across all our apps,” said Meta chief executive officer Mark Zuckerberg.
