Wanita UMNO grassroot members urged to pledge support to Zahid

Its secretary Datuk Rosni Sohar said this was pertinent for the unity government to lead the people and steer the country in the right direction.
"I hope Wanita Umno grassroot members to stand together with their central counterparts to ensure the harmony of the party is preserved for the sake of the Malay community in the country.
The party would always protect the rights of the Malays, Islam and the Malay rulers, she assured via statement published on Umno Online.
"Wanita Umno division chiefs had showed their solidarity for the leadership and had given the mandate to the the president, deputy president, vice president and Umno Supreme Working Council (MKT) members to steer the party in the right direction in the unity government," she said.
Rosni who is also the Umno MKT member said Wanita Umno was the first which had that showed solidarity towards the institutional leadership of the party's president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi as the wing remained loyal to party president and respected the Yang di-Pertuan Agong's decision.
On Thursday, three Umno leaders were sacked of their membership for mocking the party and campaigned for other parties during the 15th General Election (GE15).
This was informed by the Umno MKT member Datuk Mohd Puad Zarkashi when met by the media at Menara Dato' Onn.
Puad, however, did not reveal the names of those involved but explained that the dismissal involved a division chief and two Wanita division chiefs.
