KOTA KINABALU - While the bulk of his peers have left the party, Beluran MP Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee chooses to stay put with Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu).

Essentially, this made Ronald -- who is also party vice-president -- the sole elected representative of Bersatu in Sabah.

"I am still Bersatu Beluran Division Chief. I am still with Bersatu in Sabah," he said on Saturday.

According to Ronald, Bersatu Sabah leaders -- whom have today left the party en masse today -- held a meeting on Friday which he was neither invited nor informed about it.

He also said that what the former Badan Pimpinan Bersatu Sabah Chief, Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor did will not destroy Bersatu in Sabah and the party will remain there.

"I know some section leaders have different views following the decision. It is their right to choose the party they want to join for political survival.

"Bersatu leaders have the right to make decisions. Bersatu in Sabah will remain here and we will rebuild this party," he said.

Ronald, who is also the former Agriculture and Food Industry Minister, managed to retain the Beluran parliamentary seat under the Perikatan Nasional (PN) ticket after not being nominated by Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) or Bersatu in the Nov 19, 15th General Election (GE15).
