SHAH ALAM - PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli has said that he will only issue political statements outside his working hours as economy minister starting next week.

The Pandan MP said "We have a plan set to face political opponents. The time paid by the people is a responsibility towards the country and cannot be used for political work.

"Our own time (such as night time, weekends and others) is the time to campaign so that there is no mix-up between the responsibilities as a minister and the responsibilities as the party's deputy president," he said in his facebook post today.

Therefore, he stressed, statements about the ministry's policy, economic position and related matters will be made through official channels as a minister.

"I understand that the social media war is still hot, the Perikatan Nasional (PN) including Pas political game continues but the main responsibility of the government is to improve the lives of the people.

"The priority now is to adjust policies and implementation of projects so as to have the greatest impact on the people in preparation for the economic challenges in 2023 which are expected to further test the strength and resilience of the country's economy, " he said through a post on Facebook today.

Rafizi further said after a week of understanding the current situation in the ministry, he will start issuing political statements as PKR deputy president to outline planning, efforts and preparations for the upcoming six state elections.

"Broadcasting political content (apart from content about policies and programmes as a minister) so that we break the sentiment of hatred that is being carried now.

"They thought that being in the opposition only creates sentiments of hatred. They forgot that being in the opposition also requires knowledge about policies, monitoring implementation, bringing the voice of the people with their daily problems," he said.

Meanwhile, Rafizi said from January, the state elections campaign will kick start using campaigning methods used before the formation of the government on the platform of PKR and @ayuhMYmovement without the involvement of government money and time.
