SHAH ALAM - Non-governmental organisation (NGO) Muafakat Nasional (MN)'s president, Tan Sri Annuar Musa said it has received more than 10,000 applications for membership in just a few hours since opening.

This was shared in Annuar's official Facebook page today (Monday).

"Subhanallah... in just a few hours since the registration opened, we have received over 10,000 applications.

"I'm touched to know that there are many people out there, who care about religion, race, and country as well as togetherness (muafakat)," he added.

Annuar said the support from the people, has given him a new 'power' to keep fighting for the country.

"I feel a new type of strength to keep on fighting with those who are sincere and honest.

"We hope Allah SWT will ease the next course of action for us," he added.

On Saturday, MN opened up registration for membership beginning last Saturday. He said the MN was planning to open membership sometime next week, however, he had received requests from the people to expedite the opening of membership through the MN's official website at https://muafakatnasional.org.my.

Annuar was Umno’s Ketereh division chief for 35 years before he was sacked last week.

Last Friday, Umno confirmed Annuar was one of the three party leaders sacked during its recent supreme council meeting.Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan said Umno supreme council, under clause 10.6 of the party constitution, had the right to terminate any of its members.
