Three former health ministers shared a stage to discuss national healthcare issues

SHAH ALAM - In a never-before-seen scene, the country's three former health ministers shared one stage today, to deliberate on the country's healthcare.

In a Twitter posting, former health minister Khairy Jamaluddin said they agreed to support the new Health Minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa in pushing through tough reforms needed for the country.

“Healthcare is political but should not be politicised,” he said, stating that him, Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad and Datuk Seri Dr S Subramaniam were present during the 'Build the World We Want A Healthy Future For All' forum in Kuala Lumpur organised by NCD Malaysia.

Meanwhile, Kuala Selangor MP Dr Dzukelfi, who was in office from 2018 to 2022, quoted Khairy’s tweet by saying that he enjoyed every moment of the historic forum where three former health ministers in Malaysia’s new political landscape of a unity government.

Khairy also shared photos of him with Dr Dzulkefly and Dr Subramaniam seated during the panelist session.

During the forum, the former health ministers agreed that for the good of the people, the unity government should put forward health reform plans without politicising.

The Health Ministry will also provide a platform for previous ministers to share their views.
