Covid-19: 1,038 new cases, nine deaths

SHAH ALAM - Malaysia records 1,038 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday with two imported cases.

This increased the total number of active cases to 17,547.

Data from the KKMNow portal stated 93.3 per cent or 16,378 individuals were undergoing home quarantine and there were no patients in the Covid-19 Quarantine and Treatment Centre (PKRC).

A total of 1,100 patients were placed in hospitals and 69 patients were held in the intensive care unit (ICU).

The total number of patients who recovered were 1,456, which brought the cumulative number of cases to 4,958,158.

The country recorded nine deaths with three deaths outside of hospital facilities or brought-in-dead (BID).

This brought the total number of deaths to 36,778.
