Landslide: Firemen, local authorities, agencies deployed for SAR – S’gor MB

SHAH ALAM – Assets from the Fire and Rescue Department, local authorities and agencies have been deployed to the affected location for Search and Rescue (SAR) efforts.

Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari said that SAR mission was being carried out actively at the location.

“The victims found are being attended and given treatment by personnel on duty.

“Let us all pray that the personnel and victims who are still trapped will be rescued and protected from any calamity,” he wrote on his Facebook post today.

Earlier, Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Datuk Norazam Khamis said firefighters arrived at the scene at about 3am after receiving a distress call at 2.24am.

The height of the landslide was estimated to be 30 meters above the campsite and covered an area of about three acres.

The SAR efforts were carried out by the Fire and Rescue Department along with other agencies including Volunteer Fire Brigade, Private Fire Brigade, police, Civil Defence Force (APM), Health Ministry and the Special Malaysia Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (SMART) Team.
