Jamal Abdillah withdraws membership from MN

SHAH ALAM - Famous singer, Datuk Jamal Abdillah has announced that he will be withdrawing his membership from Muafakat Nasional (MN), a non-govermental organisation (NGO).

He said this was due the principle of the NGO which seemed political and not suitable with his principles.

In a news report, Jamal was qouted as saying that his fans expressed their views on his decision and hoped that he would withdraw his membership.

"Please accept my wish to withdraw as it is not in line with my principle as an entertainer.

"I want my fans to like me and my decisions. My fans have requested for me to withdraw my membership from MN.

"My family, friends and fans have requested me to do so. I'm also of the opinion that this is for the best for all," he said on Saturday.

On Thursday, MN president, Tan Sri Annuar Musa informed that Jamal was among 30 individuals who were appointed as MN's supreme council member.

Apart from Jamal, actor Datuk Seri Eizlan Yusof and Ummi Nazeera were also appointed as supreme council member.
