BATANG KALI - Eight dogs of the Tracker Dog Unit (K9) were ordered to take five due to signs of fatigue following today's search and rescue (SAR) of the remaining landslide victims at the Father's Organic Farm, here.

Of the eight canines, six belong to the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) while the other two were of the Police.

The SAR has entered its fourth day and as of 4.45 pm, there had been no progress on the discovery of newer victims underneath the rubble of loose soil.

On Sunday, Selangor Fire and Rescue Director, Datuk Norazam Khamis said the operation to search for the remaining victims who were feared to be buried in deep soil used the K9 services of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue, PDRM and the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM).

These K9 dogs have been trained and specialised in the detection of dead bodies.

Among the capabilities of this K9 is being able to detect at a depth of about three to four meters in the deep soil.
