KUALA LUMPUR - The victory of the Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in today's vote of confidence in the Dewan Rakyat proves the support that he has to lead the government.

Speaking up to the media after the Parliament adjourned today, the Communication and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil said the government was now ready to tackle bread-and-butter issue faced by the people.

“Today marked as a victory to the people which had also stopped the political crisis that has been happening for so long.

“Hence, this is the closure of what we have seen since the Nov 19 national poll when a hung parliament occurred for the first time,” said the Lembah Pantai MP.

Thus, Fahmi further said with the victory, there will no longer be issues pertaining to the legitimacy of the Prime Minister as he now recieved the majority support in the Dewan Rakyat.

Fahmi added that apart from issues of cost of living, the government will also be tackling the ongoing monsoonal flood that has hit the East Coast states harder than any where else.

“What we want to focus on is the government’s focus after the political situation, we will tackle the people issue and bring back the economy,” he said.
