Nadma receives RM5mil flood relief donation

KUALA LUMPUR - National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) receives RM5 million donation from FGV Holdings Berhad today in order to help the affected flood victims.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Sabah, Sarawak Affairs and Special Functions) Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said the donation was part of FGV's corporate social responsibility (CSR).

"This donation is a part of FGV's CSR, as their commitment to share responsibility to help the country in dealing with disaster issues, especially the current floods," he said.

He also urged private sectors, non-governmental organisations (NGO) or individuals to come forward and provide relief funds to the affected groups.

Armizan said those who wanted to give donations to contribute to the correct channels.

"This is to make sure that assistance in terms of food, clothes among others reach those in need," he said.

The donation was handed over by FGV chairman Datuk Dzulkifli Abd Wahab.

Commenting further, Armizan said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi will be in Besut to monitor the flood situation there.
