Perak accounts for the highest number of unvaccinated civil servants

As of Dec, statistics showed that there were still six percent of people in the state, largely civil servants, who had yet to receive their COVID-19 vaccination.
"We are trying to advise the civil servants to get themselves vaccinated. There are no issues when it comes to private sector employees, but awareness is very low among civil servants.
"Nevertheless, we hope this can be solved as soon as possible," he added.
Sivanesan was responding to Mohd Fakhruddin Abd Aziz (Pas-Kamunting)'s additional question during the State Assembly Session earlier.
He further explained that almost 98 percent of private sector employees were already vaccinated in the state because their employers had set it as a mandatory requirement.
"In the private sector, employers could force their employees to be vaccinated and have actions taken on those who do not comply, including termination," he added.
Separately, Sivanesan also clarified that medicine supplies were sufficient in all 15 government hospitals in the state.
"There are no issues of a lack of medicine in hospitals, the supply is on the same level and value as private hospitals," he said.
The Sunkai Assemblyman said the Perak State Health Department received funding for the procurement of medicine and non-medicine in early January 2022, based on its application and use in 2021.
He explained that the medicine supplies in the state remained at an optimal level.
"Disruption only happens when supply can't meet the demand," he added.
