Covid-19, 857 new cases, three deaths recorded

SHAH ALAM - Malaysia records 857 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday with one imported case.

This brought the total active cases in the country to 14,590.

Data from the KKMNow portal stated that 93.8 per cent or 13,685 individuals were undergoing home quarantine and none were treated at the Covid-19 Quarantine and Treatment Centre (PKRC).

The data showed that 859 patients were receiving treatment in hospitals while 46 were in the intensive care unit (ICU).

There were 1,119 recoveries recorded, bringing the cumulative number to 4,969,828 cases.

The country also recorded three deaths and all of them were brought-in-dead (BID) cases.

This brought the total number of deaths to 36,824 since the pandemic began.
