Flood situation in T'gganu improves, with number of victim decreases

KUALA TERENGGANU - The total number of flood victims in Terengganu is showing a decrease, with the number of victims dropping from 25,895 today compared to 26,484 on Thursday.

There were 181 temporary evacuation centres (PPS) still active in the state, and 6,844 families who were affected by floods were housed in these PPS.

The State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) Secretariat stated that as of 8 a.m., there were only three districts that showed an increase in the number of flood victims, namely Kuala Terengganu (2,503), Kuala Nerus (3,561), and Dungun (5,201).

Kemaman (5,439), Besut (4,309), and Hulu Terengganu (3,567) were the three districts with the lowest number of flood victims. These districts recorded high number of victims previously.

Other districts, Setiu and Marang recorded no changes, with 1,118 and 197 victims, respectively.
