Maxis expands 5G international roaming service to 29 countries

SHAH ALAM - Maxis users can now enjoy high speed connectivity abroad as the company expands its 5G international roaming service to 29 countries.

The telco company revealed its plans to further extend its 5G international roaming services to more countries by the end of this year.

It expressed commitment in providing users with the best connectivity experience wherever they are.

Maxis Consumer Head Arjun Varma said he looked forward to expand the company’s services to more countries in the future.

“We are pleased that our customers can enjoy the best 5G experience in even more countries now, which is timely with the expectation of an influx of travelers for the year-end holidays.

“Together with our roaming partners, we are committed to providing the best connectivity experience wherever our customers are,” he said.

Users who have already owned a 5G-enabled device, the 5G roaming service will be automatically activated.

Moreover, they will be charged as per the existing 4G roaming packages.

Maxis customers were only required to access the Maxis application and click on the Maxis Roaming services tab to subscribe to a preferred plan.

For another manual alternative, they could subscribe manually by dialing *100#, go to "International Roaming", choose "Country", and select one of the available passes.

On Oct, last year, Maxis announced that it became the first telco in the country to provide customers with 5G international roaming services in Singapore, Thailand, and Indonesia.
