Health Ministry ask people with info on rodent 'feasting' fried chicken to come forward

SHAH ALAM - The Health Ministry called on the public to provide information regarding a viral video that showed a rat feeding on fried chicken inside a food warmer display.

The video was allegedly shot in a restaurant, where the rodent appeared to be "feasting" on the fried chickens on display.

A Twitter user by the name of Zoey Hanafiah claimed that the incident occurred when she was at the premise.

"We urge people with information to come forward and share it with us. "Further actions will be taken immediately," the ministry stated in a tweet on Friday.

The post garnered multiple responses from users nationwide.

"Hygiene-wise, it is bad, but not all restaurants are bad; some are good," Norsafeni commented.

An individual by the name of Mic Zhu said restaurants that are open 24 hours a day are poorly maintained, which could lead to such an incident.

"It's open for 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, without time for proper cleaning. It should be cleaned daily," the user added.
