HULU SELANGOR - Fire and Rescue Department personnel AG Mohd Nasharudin Awang Nayan was in tears when he removed the body of a boy from the search grounds of the Batang Kali landslide tragedy at Father’s Organic Farm on Jalan Genting here on Saturday (Nov 24).

The boy was the final victim missing from the incident.

AG Mohd Nasharudin said the search and rescue (SAR) team did not expect to find the body on the hillside area as they were focused on sector A’s (Hillview) above and below the slope

"One of the Fire and Rescue officers who was on the hillside was monitoring the excavator, before seeing water flowing down the hillside.

"He called me along with his teammates to dig the area using a shovel with a hoe," he said when met at the scene of the incident the same night.

AG Mohd Nasharudin, who is a member of the Fire Department from the Petaling Jaya Fire Station, said that the SAR team later found a sleeping bag at a depth of 1.5m in the ground at 4.53 pm this afternoon.

"We felt tears coming down with a sign of relief when we found the body of the child fully dressed in perfect condition but he had already started to decompose," he said.
