Meanwhile, students in Group B will begin classes on Jan 3, Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek said in a Twitter post on Wednesday.
"Good luck going back to school," she said.
Based on the infographic she shared, Group A are schools located in Johor, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu.
While group B, schools are in Malacca, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Penang, Sabah, Sarawak, Selangor, Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan.
Previously, the Education Ministry had announced that the 2023/2024 Academic Calendar session was postponed to March 12, 2023 (Group A) and March 13 (Group B).
This is to ensure that the Malaysian Certificate of Education examination will be carried out smoothly, the ministry said.
