Zamri Rambli is Group Sinar Karangkraf Editor-in-Chief, leads Sinar Harian

SHAH ALAM - Award winning journalist Zamri Rambli has been announced as the new Sinar Karangkraf Group Editor-in-Chief effective Jan 1, 2023.

The 42-year old will replace Rozaid Rahman, who has decided to retire due to health reasons after two years leading Malaysia’s number one Malay daily.

With 20 years of experience in the media industry, Zamri will be responsible for the Sinar Harian print edition and digital operations as well as oversee other digital brands under the group, namely Sinar Daily, Sinar Harian Premium, Sinar Plus, Sinar Bestari and Sinar Islam.

He, who is a Universiti Sains Malaysia graduate in Communications, was previously the news editor for Sinar Harian Premium.

Zamri started off his career as a journalist in 2003 at Massa magazine before joining Kosmo in 2004 as a journalist and later promoted as news editor.

He joined Sinar Harian as assistant news editor in 2019 before becoming the Premium news editor in 2021.

The Premium team bagged the bronze for the Malaysian Press Institute (MPI) Awards 2020 for Best Documentary about the Orang Asli Batek ethnic and later the following year grabbing gold for the same category on Covid-19 Frontliners for MPI Awards 2021.

Speaking on his appointment, Zamri thanks the company for giving him the opportunity and trust to hold such position. He notes that the management has continuously given opportunities to young editors to lead the way.
