SHAH ALAM - Selangor Water Management Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) Twitter has been slammed by netizens due to water supply disruption on the first day of the new year.

A user identified as Hooi Lay See expressed his frustration in the comment section of the agency's Twitter account today.

"Waduh! 'Water on vacation again? If it's transport, you can tweet Anthony Loke. 'Water cut' whom to tweet? Smelly water, dirty water, broken pipes, rusty pipes," he said in the comment section.

Another user of the social site by the name of Zack was equally disappointed and claimed that he had not received any prior information about water supply disruption.

"Accident happens. (Should) inform the public early on to prepare," he tweeted.

Another user with the name ysh199 made fun of the agency saying that water supply disruption will occur during the Chinese New Year celebration.

"CNY 'confirm water cut' again", he said.

However, Sinar Harian's survey in several areas including Shah Alam and Kajang found the disruption did not affect some consumers.

In fact, there are areas that did not experience water supply disruption problems following the temporary break of the Sungai Semenyih Water Treatment Plant (LRA).

On Sunday, the water supply restoration status involved 221 areas in four affected regions following the suspension of work while the Sungai Semenyih LRA was fully completed.

Air Selangor in a statement on its Twitter page informed that all areas recovered 100 per cent namely Sepang, Hulu Langat and Kuala Langat including Petaling at about 12pm.
