No meeting yet to dissolve Kelantan state assembly

KOTA BHARU - The state government has not yet held a meeting for the dissolution of the Kelantan State Legislative Assembly (Dun) to enable the state election (PRN) to be held.

Kelantan Deputy Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah said the dissolution depended on the decision of Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob after they received the consent of Sultan of Kelantan Sultan Muhammad V.

"We leave the matter to the Menteri Besar and the final decision depends on the Central Pas.

“We will wait and see," he said after attended the Kelantan Menteri Besar's New Year's Special Mandate and the Kelantan Civil Servant Assembly here on Thursday.

Responding to rumours that there were contesting candidates that would be changed, Amar said that the change was normal in the party.

"That's normal, every election, there will be a change of candidates.

"Usually, 30 per cent of new face candidates who are 'winnable', there are young people, women and scholars," he said.
