KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Umno shouldn't carry out any action that could damage the state, said Bersatu secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin.

He, who is also Perikatan Nasional (PN) secretary-general, said Umno should abide by the agreements that have been previously reached with Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

"If we were to follow what is being done by Umno, it can destory the state totally.

"The agreement was done when Hajiji was appointed. It must be accepted by Datuk Seri Bung Moktar and other leaders.

"Hajiji was appointed as promised in the agreement. Umno should follow this," he said in a press conference after a meeting with Bersatu Sabah here on Sunday.

Hamzah said the agreement must be made public so that the people would know what the agreement says and some parties ignorance and disrespect towards the agreement

"So if anything happens when Bung Moktar announces to withdraw from supporting Hajiji, I will show the agreement for the people to understand that these people do not understand what was agreed before and does not have the character to respect its own agreement.

Hamzah had previously claimed that there were former state assemblymen in Sabah who had met him.

"I have also met with several assemblymen who were originally from Bersatu, but I will not do anything that will hamper Sabah's leadership.
