KUALA LUMPUR – The 2022 Umno General Assembly (PAU) is a place for Umno members to reflect and attract trust among the younger voters for the next election.

Barisan Nasional Communication Coordinator Mohd Shafiq Fadhly Mahmud said that the coalition still had the number of voters, but it was not contributed by the young voters.

Hence, he viewed the assembly as a platform where Umno members could re-strategise the new moves and how they could improve things further and most importantly, how they could gain the trust of the people.

“I'm from the communication department, so now we need to reflect on our communication strategy.

“The moves of young voters now we need to cater to, what are their sentiments, how we can tackle them because they are the social media generation,” he told Sinar Daily when met at PAU, yesterday.

Shafiq opined that the loss in GE15 was a clear signal for Umno to reflect and consider what was happening internally as well.

PAU would be held over a four-day period until Jan 14.
