No Covid cases from Chinese tourists so far, says Health Minister

She said this was based from arrival of passengers from Jan 8 to Jan 10.
On Jan 8, 4,000 tourists arrived in Malaysia, bringing the total to 7,192 till Jan 10.
“We are not only taking precautionary measures involving the Chinese tourists but other countries as well,” she said when met at the Pendang Hospital.
“The Covid infection in the country is controlled due to the high number of screenings carried out daily," she added.
The minister further said total screenings has reached over tens of thousands showing there is an awareness towards the need for Covid-19 screening.
Zaliha said the Covid-19 numbers in the country recorded less than 500 cases which was a positive stride towards reducing the infection.

The specialist hospital will include general medicine, general surgery, obstetrics, gynecologists and orthopedics.
The health ministry approved an additional allocation of RM4.5 million to implement the procurement of CT Scan machines this year.
