My father needs a fair judicial review - says Najib's son
KUALA LUMPUR - His jailed father, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, should be accorded a fair and square judicial review, beseeched Datuk Nizar, the son of the former Umno president.
“I hope my dad will be given the chance for a proper defense because the right thing needs to be heard and the right to seek redress of whatever injustice dealt against him”, he told Sinar Daily at the 2022 Umno General Assembly today.
Najib was sentenced to 12 years jail in 2022 over several counts of corruption involving SRC International.
“A lot are unhappy with the last court judgment especially on the SRC case so I’m hoping all wil go well for my dad's judicial review," said Nizar
On a question over his candidacy for the coming party poll, Nizar who is also Pekan Umno youth chief replied that he has yet to made up his mind.
“To be honest, I’m still busy with my work, so probably it’s not now,” he added.
