SUNGAI PETANI - Pakatan Harapan (PH) is proving capable of improving the people's economy, while Malay powers remained intact and unaffected under the unity governme, PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli said today.

Rafizi said both these factors must be stressed upon as it was the main sentiments played by Perikatan Nasional (PN) in the build-up to the 15th General Election (GE15).

The Economic Affairs Minister claimed the main factor in PN winning a large number of seats in GE15 was due to sentiments of race that were widespread, as well as the high expenditure towards the campaign.

“The racial sentiments played by Pas and PN caused over 70 to 80 per cent of Malay voters in Kedah to choose one party. I was amused when there were those who said PN’s victory was caused by their TikTok content, when the victory was actually caused by the racial sentiments played.

“The second factor that had a bigger impact was money. Ask those in Kedah, Penang, Terengganu and even in Pandan itself, Malay voters asked for 'fuel money' to return and vote,” he claimed.

Rafizi claimed such when he attended the Kedah and Penang State Election Convention, here, on Saturday.

He however remained confident that within the next three to four months, support for PH would increase riding on Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's appointment as 10th Prime Minister.
