PH unlikely to give up seats for BN in Selangor

According to a report by The Star, Amanah central leadership committee member Sany Hamzan said it would be unrealistic for PH to let BN run for any of the 40 seats it currently holds unless there was a good way for both parties to swap seats.
“(It’s possible) if there is a seat swap between seats that are won by both coalitions,” the Taman Templer assemblyman said when contacted by The Star on Sunday.
“But I think discussions are currently focused on seats won by Perikatan Nasional’s (PN) Bersatu and Pas,” Sany stated
In Selangor, PN has seven state seats, six of them are held by Bersatu, and one is held by Pas.
Sany thought that the state election (PRN) would be in June and that the state assembly would be dissolved in May.
“I think unofficial talks may have begun, and there will be requests made by parties.”
Sany said that every leader must follow the decision made by the top leaders, no matter how the seat talks turn out.
“When a decision is made, party members must follow the leadership’s decision.
“In my opinion, it isn’t wise for us to give up the seats we won (to BN),” added Sany.
The term of Selangor's state assembly is up on Aug 26 of this year.
PH secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said earlier this month that the presidential council had not discussed working with BN for the upcoming PRN.
The six states that will be holding polls are PN-held Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu, and PH’s Selangor, Penang and Negeri Sembilan.
Kelantan's five-year term ends on June 9, Terengganu's ends on Sept 1, and Kedah's ends on Sept 4.
Negeri Sembilan's term will end on Sept 2, and Penang's will end on Aug 2.
